Meridian Accounting Solutions was founded in Chicago in 2001 by Patricia Ng and David Kowalski, who left Big Four and national law firm careers to build the kind of accounting and advisory firm that mid-market companies actually need — one with institutional-grade expertise, genuine industry knowledge, and the responsiveness that larger firms rarely provide.
Over two decades, we have grown our practice to cover six integrated disciplines: audit and assurance, corporate tax compliance, management consulting, CFO advisory, transaction advisory, and risk and compliance. Each discipline is staffed by specialists, and coordinated to deliver unified service across every engagement.

Patricia co-founded Meridian in 2001 after a decade leading audit engagements at a Big Four firm, bringing institutional rigor to mid-market clients who needed it most. She oversees firm strategy and leads the audit and assurance practice, with a client roster spanning regional manufacturers, healthcare organizations, and privately held corporations across the Midwest.
Tax Partner
David leads Meridian's corporate tax practice with deep expertise in federal and multi-state compliance, M&A tax structuring, and pass-through entity planning. Before joining Meridian, he spent eight years in the tax group of a national law firm advising on complex transactions and restructurings for middle-market companies.
Director of Advisory Services
Rachel built Meridian's CFO advisory practice from the ground up, drawing on fifteen years of experience as a controller and CFO for growth-stage companies in logistics and professional services. She leads fractional CFO engagements and advises clients through capital raises, acquisitions, and operational finance transformations.
Senior Manager, Risk & Compliance
Samuel manages Meridian's risk and internal audit practice, specializing in enterprise risk assessments, SOX compliance, and fraud prevention frameworks for regional businesses preparing for institutional investment or regulatory scrutiny. He holds the Certified Internal Auditor designation with twelve years of experience across financial services and manufacturing.
